The LiteRom Fee for Publishers
About the Fee
Stichting NBD Biblion provides book reviews, articles, and author interviews to libraries, which were previously published in newspapers and magazines. In the past, this content was distributed on CD-ROMs, but nowadays, the book reviews are available through the LiteRom-database. These are accessible online (via subscription) and can also be viewed in Dutch public libraries (free of charge).
Since this material is also protected by copyright, NBD Biblion pays a reasonable fee. As a publisher, you can therefore receive a portion of this LiteRom fee.
Frequently Asked Questions about the LiteRom Fee
You may be entitled to LiteRom fee if you are the author or publisher of articles that are included in the LiteRom database. LiteRom includes, among other things, book reviews, author interviews, and articles.
No, that is not necessary. Stichting PRO independently identifies the rightful beneficiaries to distribute the LiteRom payments.
If you publish reviews but have not received any fee, please contact us for clarification.
For the production and distribution of the LiteRom database, the permission of the rights holders (authors and publishers) is required. Through a collaboration of authors and publishers, NBD Biblion is enabled to operate the LiteRom database in exchange for reasonable financial fee for writers and publishers.
The amount of the payments is periodically negotiated between NBD Biblion and the rights holders. The first publication date of the work is the determining factor for setting the rates.

We aim to distribute the LiteRom fees in the summer, usually around August. You can find more information about your fee on your invoice, which can be accessed on our webportal.
